OUR WONDERFUL BARBICAN CONCERT

OUR WONDERFUL BARBICAN CONCERT – Tuesday November 29th

We are all so very excited about our Barbican concert next week. For those of you who have been following us for a while, you may have known about our previous Barbican event back in 2017, which was captured on video, and was wonderful. Well, we have been lucky enough to be awarded a free-day by the council, and are going to be taking full advantage of this next week.

The Barbican is the kind of venue that tends to stick in the mind. There is that fantastic sound, the lights, the auditorium; it is the real deal, and we have learned that over time, these kinds of events, the special ones, can resonate on an on, and can contribute so much to a person’s sense of achievement and identity.

There has been a flurry of interest in the local media, such as The Press and at Radio York who came along this week, and we are working hard ourselves to make sure that everyone gets to hear about this concert and how to buy tickets.

This time, we are bigger and better than ever, and there is a huge cast of performers, all determined to show us exactly what they can do. We are performing for 9 hours, from 12.30-9.30pm, with a break at 6.00pm for 20 minutes, but we could have filled it twice over and everyone’s set had to be trimmed down! All our performers will be there, not just our Level 1, 2 and 3 music students, but our adult musicians, our choirs, a fabulous party band to finish with (The Tang Hall SMART staff band!) and even myself (6.30pm if you are interested), with my last ever music performance, which will be with my band The Punk Crone. I love performing but it takes a special kind of energy, and I find right now I need to spend most of my creativity on guiding and growing Tang Hall SMART.

As a follower of Tang Hall SMART, you are likely to know about the struggles and achievements of our people and will have already enjoyed one or more of our events in the past. Please do come to this one and help us make this an event that makes life-long memories for all our performers. A great show deserves a great audience, and we would love for you to be part of it all.

Tickets can be booked using this link.

Best wishes: Sue
