What Tang Hall SMART did next ...
So here we are again with a nationally imposed lockdown, still working within a framework of restrictions that impact on all aspects of delivery, still determined to maximise what we CAN do, and ready now to share details of all our provisions. In this blog I will talk about a) SMART SPACE, which is our digital college, appropriate for learners everywhere - b) Smart Ways, our Post-16 Programme, - and c) THS Music and Arts, aimed at adults. There is something. hopefully, for everyone.
SMART SPACE hosts over 300 digital courses in music, art and much more. Please visit the SMART SPACE section of our website to download a copy of our brochure, if you would like to find out about how we can help learners progress and for details about pricing options. This provision is suitable as an alternative to the creative/performing arts curriculum for secondary school age - with some courses aimed at primary school children or young people with additional needs.
Our Post 16 Programme for learners with additional needs offers a full-time blended learning experience. We are now accepting applications for September 2021. For further information, please visit the Smart Ways section of our website which is where you can download a copy of the brochure. The Smart Ways programme is for young adults who have an EHCP.
Our third offer is for adults. We have a dedicated website, THS Music and Arts Community that offers adults a range of tutorials and other resources FOR FREE. It is possible to access some of these resources - but we are also offering FREE MEMBERSHIPS for a limited time which gives access to many more instrument tutorials, a platform for sharing material, and - an invitation to our monthly Open Mic Night (on Zoom) - this is featured in the video above. There is a Facebook Page dedicated to Open Mic Nights for those who have been missing out on gigs and concerts. The THS website hosts stories from people in recovery, some of the video tutorials and other content has an adult theme and sometimes language - so we do not recommend this site for children or younger teenagers.
