At Tang Hall Smart we offer a Level 3 diploma in Creative Art and Design. This is a broad and exciting course, in which you will gain experience in a variety of disciplines, including 2D, 3D, garment production, creating digital graphics, video art, project management, understanding the creative process, portfolio development and concept development. You can also choose to study an elective unit in Creative and Performing Arts, such as masks and puppetry.

At Level 1 and 2, we offer a blended arts programme, including makeup & prosthetics and masks & puppetry. These units of work combine with units delivered by our music and drama departments to form a Level 1 or 2 qualification. Thereafter, learners can advance to Level 3 study in either Creative Art & Design or Creative & Performing Arts

You will be learning things such as:

How to apply art into the real world by learning about the world of employment and self employment.
A variety of different skills from a range of different disciplines
How to crossover with other creative arts such as using art to support music and drama

Real Life Opportunities

As well as developing skills within the art room, it is important to be able to apply those skills to real life opportunities which may involve employment and self employment.

We have partnerships and employment opportunities with many organisations in York and we also offer the opportunity for students to start a pathway towards further education at college or university.
