THS Performance Academy Established in 2025

 

At the THS Performance Academy we love to help performers achieve their dreams. We are passionate about being able to explore and refine skills that will help develop the artistic skills and artistic processes of talented creatives with a learning disability in a fast paced, fun and exciting environment. Our focus is on getting excellent young artists to be able to develop their own platforms for success within the ever shifting arts industry.

 

Performance & Excellence

 

As part of Tang Hall SMART our tutors have helped talented performers with a learning disability to be able to perform at a high level at prestigious venues in York such as The Barbican, The Crescent and Theatre 41. We always aim to put the performers at the heart of the creative process and always focus on placing the passion and vision of our performers first. Academy participants will be offered multiple chances and opportunities to perform throughout the year alongside other creative collectives. We always believe that performance is the heart & soul of what we do and we love to see the pay off that our people feel after performing.

 

Artist Development

 

Artistic development is a key part of our academy. As well as developing musical, drama or dancing skills, it is important to be able to work on all aspects of being a creative artist. We are able to offer support and expert advice and workshops to help performers hone their overall portfolio skills which include taking photos & videos, creating social media content, creating artwork and developing skills to help them navigate the modern creative arts industry. We also focus our energy on creating original ideas and content and bringing them to life alongside other passionate artists.
