COMMUNITY DRAMA CLUB

Give it a Go Joe - Community Drama Club

Our Community Drama Club runs on Wednesday evenings from 6.00pm to 7.00pm, and is led by Tom Nightingale. This is a club for adults aged 18 and above, and Tom encourages anyone from the wider community to come along. Whilst the club is very  suitable for someone who has been experiencing poor mental health, Tom believes the best drama arises when all sorts of people come together, hence the reference to 'Joe' public in the group's name. It is not just aimed at people experiencing poor mental health but anyone who loves to act, or be playful.

This friendly group play drama games, take part in improvisation, and sometimes work on scripted work too. Sessions cost £5 per night.

The link to the video here  is a documentary based on an original play, written by Tom, and performed at our community concert in 2019. It touches upon themes of mental illness and provides a 'lived-experience' view of schizophrenia. The password to the video is: Nightingale

Anyone who is interested in joining this club is asked to email holly@tanghallsmart.com
