Two new staff, last night's performance, and advance warning of our winter concert!

Last night we held our first virtual open- mic night for young people on our educational programmes. It was excellent, with a good range of acts, and a fantastic turn-out (probably over 40 separate logins during the evening, but given how in many cases, there were several people attending from one location, the actual audience was somewhat bigger).

We know it is not quite the real thing, and there is of course nothing quite like a large concert in a large hall, with bustling crowds etc etc, but we were really pleased with the results last night, and could see how much it meant to friends and families; it was in fact a pretty good replacement.

Those studying our Level 3 Music qualification performed from our rooms at The Centre, whilst there were many other young people, who attend different programmes, performing from their bedrooms and front-rooms. Well done to everyone involved, performers and staff, and thank you to all who came along.

My second focus for this blog is our two new staff, Matt and Bev. Matt is a music coach, and Bev is supporting wellbeing and our urban arts course. Read all about them on our staff page!

Finally, here is some advance notice of our Winter Concert to be held on Thursday, December 10th in the afternoon. The exact time tbc nearer the event. The plan is to hold this in the hall, but without a live audience. Instead we will be streaming on Facebook and from this site. Watch out for further information nearer the time.

All the best, Sue
